Mercedes & Red Bull just can’t keep off each other. They aren’t fighting for a title this season. Yet, their drivers & bosses manage to get into verbal exchanges till Abu Dhabi. Toto Wolff took a dig at Red Bull after the Las Vegas GP by advising how there will be a proper race director for the Abu Dhabi GP. Christian Horner isn’t one to back down and came with his own set of comments about how Lewis Hamilton enquired about a Red Bull seat earlier this season. Since then multiple comments have been made from both sides but Horner has now come out with a new revelation about Anthony Hamilton’s role in this.

After Horner’s comments, Lewis Hamilton got back at the Red Bull TP by advising how it was actually the Milton Keynes team who contacted the seven-time world champion rather than it being the other way around. Even Toto Wolff suggested that it was Horner who contacted Hamilton and wondered where the Red Bull Boss was coming up with such accusations.

Nonetheless, Horner is back with another surprising revelation just days after the Hamilton contact one, as he advises on how the Briton’s father was also involved in this saga. He explains how Anthony Hamilton inquired about Sergio Perez’s Red Bull seat and how the Red Bull TP politely refused the availability while taking a dig at Hamilton for not winning a race in 2 years.

Christian Horner told Sky Sports F1, “It’s an amazing fuss that has come out of this. It is not unusual for an exchange. I have known Anthony Hamilton for some time… there was an exchange. Anthony just asked about Checo. I don’t think he was enquiring about himself. We are very happy with the drivers that we have. Lewis hasn’t had a race win for two years, so it’s normal for those things to happen. I’ve always had a great relationship with Anthony, but there is no seat available.”

Nonetheless, after Lewis Hamilton played the Uno reverse on Christian Horner, Max Verstappen was asked about the situation. The Dutchman as usual didn’t want to get involved in the bickering and calmly presented his opinions. What did Verstappen say?

Christian Horner, while explaining how Hamilton contracted him for the seat also advised that Verstappen and Hamilton wouldn’t be a pairing that would work for Red Bull. Max Verstappen was recently asked by David Croft about the situation. Verstappen was put in a hypothetical situation where Hamilton agreed to join Red Bull. The Dutchman was asked about what his reaction would be to this situation.

Max Verstappen usually avoids such speculative questions and that’s exactly what he tried to do as he replied, “What would it add to know?” Croft insisted saying, “I’d love to know your thoughts.” Verstappen stood his ground and replied, “No, because it’s not happening. So there’s no point to make up stories if it’s not happening.”

Croft gave it a final attempt and asked, “Would you like…”, to which the Dutchman replied, “So yeah, I wouldn’t mind. It doesn’t matter. Anyone. I don’t want to put it like now, particularly on Lewis. There’s so many great drivers as well. So, yeah, sometimes it just doesn’t work out like that.”
