“Red Bull gives you wings.” This statement is certainly true in Max Verstappen’s case. The 2X champion has been super dominant in the 2023 F1 season. Even Lewis Hamilton’s “Hammer Time” is of no use against the Dutch prowess. Amid this tough time for Lewis Hamilton, his criticism of Max Verstappen and Co. has backfired with fans slamming the 7X champion with cold harsh facts. What did Hamilton criticize?

Earlier in the season, Lewis Hamilton made an appeal to the FIA to introduce a new rule that will stop teams from starting the development of the next year’s car before a certain date. This was Hamilton’s attempt to stop Max Verstappen from gaining an advantage for the next year as Red Bull had already started the development on the 2024 car. The Briton has come out again criticizing Red Bull’s domination.

According to @RBR_daily’s Tweet quoted from rossomotori.it, Lewis Hamilton said, “If we continue like this, maybe it will be Ferrari that will dominate in the next few years, or maybe McLaren will, or maybe Mercedes will come back ahead, but I think this is not the best thing for the fans . We shouldn’t have a chance to dominate for a large number of years, the battle for top positions should be closer. Unfortunately, however, Red Bull could seriously dominate in the next three seasons as well”

With the advantage that Max Verstappen and Co. have over the field, it shouldn’t be a surprise if Red Bull’s domination continues. However, fans gave Lewis Hamilton a reality check as they reminded the 7X champion of the mid-late 2010s era where Mercedes was the dominant force.

Fans took to Twitter after reading Lewis Hamilton’s statements about Red Bull threatening to dominate for the next 3 years as fans spat facts in the comments. Many called Lewis Hamilton a hypocrite and they pointed toward the irony in his comments. Mercedes and Hamilton dominated from 2014-2020 as fans called the 7-year domination a walk in the park.
