Lewis Hamilton and FIA have been the talk of the town in the last couple of days. Lewis Hamilton crossed the live track after his crash in Qatar, which was then followed by a $52000 penalty. Nonetheless, the FIA decided to revisit the incident once again, categorizing it as a serious offense. To make sure that it doesn’t happen again, FIA has made a drastic change.

Lewis Hamilton advises on the only way FIA is going to make him agree to the change
In light of the recent offense by Lewis Hamilton, F1’s governing body FIA decided that they will be quadrupling the maximum amount that a steward can fine. It was previously $264,000 but has now been pushed to a little over a million dollars. While many drivers don’t agree with the decision, Lewis Hamilton seems to be fine but has a condition.
Lewis Hamilton advised that if the FIA is pushing the drivers to pay a million dollars, then it for sure has to go to a great cause. He added how the F1 industry is flooded with money and that F1 itself needs to do a lot more to make the sport accessible and diverse. Putting the million to a cause is the only way Hamilton will pay the enormous fine.
During the Thursday Press conference at the US GP, Hamilton said, “So many causes around the world. So, yeah. That’s the only way they’ll get that million from me”

Hamilton advises on his feelings regarding FIA’s revisiting of the $52,000 fine
FIA recently announced how the initial fine and judgment regarding Hamilton’s crossing of a live track will be revisited. FIA advised on how it was later considered a serious offense, hence the revisiting. Nonetheless, many pundits and fans backlashed at the FIA regarding the same. Later, FIA explained that the role model referred to Hamilton’s position as a driver at the pinnacle of motorsports. FIA added that all the drivers are role models in this case.
During the US GP Thursday Press conference, Lewis Hamilton elaborated on how FIA did not mean to cause any harm or make Hamilton feel left out. It was just improper communication. He followed on to explain how there was a recent karting incident and then explained the role model statement is to become someone that young drivers look up to.
