Mercedes could make a design change for the upcoming championship. The team needs to make the number on the car more visible. The team will make changes to where the number is displayed on the front and back panel of the car.

This problem was evident while pre-season testing was going on in Bahrain earlier this month, fans found it was hard to decipher who was behind the wheel. Was it Lewis’s 44 or Valtteri’s 77?

On Instagram, the official team social media had replied to address the concern about the visibility of the numbers while driving around the track.

The Silver Arrows might change the numbers on the front and the numbers on the back, so that car is easily recognizable once the season goes underway. The opening race is just weeks away, whatever changes the Silver Arrows are thinking of making needs to be done quickly.

The Silver Arrows had a tough time while testing

Going into pre-season testing in Bahrain, everyone thought that Mercedes would dominate the track once again. However, it was quite the opposite. The team struggled around the track. The Brackley-based outfit had gear issues while their drivers, Hamilton and Bottas spun around the track while getting in laps.

In an interview with Sky Sports as quoted by Planet F1, the Finn said, “Well, you know, we are sandbagging, always in testing, so that’s it.I absolutely believe the car and the team, it has the potential [to win the title]. I don’t think it’s yet there as a package in terms of performance, but I’ve no doubt we will work hard to find it somehow.”
