Valtteri Bottas is all set to leave the Mercedes F1 team at the end of this season. He will be joining Alfa Romeo alongside Guanyu Zhao for the upcoming 2022 season. Bottas has been a part of the Silver Arrows team for the last five seasons and had 10 Grand Prix victories and 58 podium finishes. He will be replaced by Williams driver George Russell to drive alongside Hamilton next season.

Lewis Hamilton called Bottas the best teammate this sport has ever seen. Now, the Finn is all set to bid farewell to the team. Mercedes have recently shared a tweet with a kit full of the items that Bottas regularly uses. The kit is directed to his next home, the Alfa Romeo team.

Fans are aware of the Mercedes driver’s love for Coffee and Porridge. However, the kit has much more, including the beard survival kit and Finnish sweets. The team would surely miss his presence in the team; Bottas had been an integral part of the Mercedes‘ dominant run in the last 5 seasons. He finished 2nd in the drivers’ standings in 2019 and 2020 behind Lewis Hamilton.

“The Tweet read, Everything you need to look after your very own @ValtteriBottas right here, @alfaromeoracing. Coffee. Porridge. Beard survival kit. Moomin mug. Finnish sweets. TikTok book. Hot sauce. It’s all in there.”

The Finn will be looking forward to ending his journey with the Silver Arrows on a high. Mercedes have a considerable advantage in the constructors’ standings after their double podium finish in Saudi Arabia. However, Bottas has to play a role in the upcoming race to ensure Lewis Hamilton finishes ahead of Max Verstappen in their title battle.

After five years with the team, Bottas will bid farewell to the team after the season finale at Abu Dhabi. However, he has mixed feelings about his time with the team. “[I have] mixed feelings. Obviously, when I joined the team in 2017, the only thing on my mind was to win the drivers’ championship,” said Bottas.

“That didn’t happen but I need to look at the positives; I’ve grown so much as a driver and as a human being, we’ve learned so much as a team and actually achieved some pretty cool things together, also many, many positives that I will take on board.” added the Finn.
