Aston Martin, the newly rebranded Racing Point, raised many eyebrows last year when they unveiled a car that looked very similar to the 2019 Mercedes. FIA also fined the team after Renault raised a protest regarding the same.

Racing Point takes several parts of their car from the Brackley Squad. They are Mercedes engine customer team and use their suspension as well. Since then, the Racing Point team is also cheekily called the Pink Mercedes.

Aston Martin is making a come back to the sport after six decades and their car launch is scheduled for March 3, 2021. In an attempt to hype up the reveal, they gave us an auditory sneak peek of their engine

The team took to Twitter to post a video on Twitter of the new AMR21 being tested.

Mercedes AMG replied to the tweet with, “Sounds familiar.” Both teams are often seen interacting on social media. In this particular scenario, Mercedes cheekily hinted at their power unit.

Aston Martin livery reveal

We expected the luxury racing team to sport a green livery once they announced Cognizant as their sponsor. However, the team recently announced that they would be retaining BWT as their sponsor.

This opens up several different avenues of what the livery could look like. Who knows, maybe the Aston Martin car will show us a green-pink look.

“BWT’s distinct pink branding made the Racing Point challengers unmissable on the grid, so it is unlikely that the pink panthers of Formula 1 is a thing of the past. The official launch of the AMR21 will reveal whether or not there has been some form of compromise,” said a report.

The team this year is focused on claiming a top-three finish in the championship standing. They lost the position last year to McLaren at the season finale by just seven points.

The competition will be much harder this season, with McLaren also dawning the Mercedes power unit and Renault rebranding themselves as Alpine.
