Mercedes F1 clarifies Toto Wolff’s statement
Mercedes’s boss is asking his F1 team to look for solutions after the Imola Race. But many failed to understand what actually Wolff meant. So, the British Formula One engineer Andrew Shovlin clarified Wolff’s statement.
Shovlin revealed the car isn’t performing the way it was designed. So, the team has to increase the car’s ride height, and doing so is affecting the W13’s performance. This problem is not only of the Geman constructor but most of the F1 teams that are facing similar issues of porpoising. The Brackley-based team is currently working on ways to eliminate this trouble from their car.

Shovlin also clarified Toto Wolff’s message, which was tough for many to understand. He said, “And when Toto talks about finding the key, what he is really talking about is… is there an aerodynamic solution that we can apply to the car that will make this problem go away?”
Mercedes might introduce new upgrades for Miami GP

Further, they are going for small upgrades rather than major ones. Their major upgrades, like the questionable sidepods and side mirrors, weren’t much help. They are optimistic about some improvements in the car for the upcoming race.
Shovlin stated, “But we are seeing encouraging signs as I said we are hoping to bring parts to the car soon, maybe even Miami, where we can hopefully see progress on this issue.”
