Mercedes F1 are the fifth team to unveil their 2021 title challenger to the world. The W12 certainly looks like a striking car, and with it effectively being an evolution of the all conquering W11, one can safely assume that this car will be the best on the grid.
However, in recent times, the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari have openly voiced the fact that they have strengthened themselves in certain areas, thus leading people to believe that we could have a title scrap on our hands.
But the Silver Arrows’ team boss Toto Wolff advises rival fans to curb their optimism.

At the car launch, Wolff said, “We respect every competitor and there is a handful of teams that could do a good job this year, and for sure next year.
“But at the end of the day, pre-season, the gossip that you hear around car performance or power unit performance is just noise. If you want to get entertained by gossip then you can listen to it.”
Wolff’s suggestion is fair. Fans who are jumping the gun and believe we have a title race on our hands might want to hold on to that thought, at least until the pre-season tests in Bahrain begin on March 12.
Mercedes will be fully focused on making it eight consecutive titles
The Brackley-based outfit have plenty of experience to ignore the mind games played by their rivals. What the German team does best is focus on themselves and target perfection.

As such, their ultimate goal will be to win yet another world title and continue their dominance. The odds to do so heavily favor them, as you’d expect. They’ve got a great car and a seven-time world championship-winning driver in Lewis Hamilton. You’d certainly not want to bet against them from taking the trophy home yet again.
Their rivals claim to have gotten stronger, even Hamilton expects to face a threat from Aston Martin. But there is no reason to think that the Silver Arrows haven’t done the same.
