Lewis Hamilton has earned a well-deserved stature in the Formula 1 community. The 7x champion has shown proven driving talent that has propelled him to the very top of the pinnacle of motorsport. With that, naturally, the 38-year-old has gotten an affinity for the cars he’s driven and what makes them world beaters. That is exactly why the multiple world champion has come with some pretty pointed remarks about the development path Mercedes has taken in the past two years.
Safe to say, his words have not gone down too well with the fans. But in a spectacular turn of events, it would appear that Hamilton has been vindicated for all the hate he has been getting online for his comments. Recently, Silver Arrows’ boss, Toto Wolff has come out with a statement that all but confirms Hamilton’s reservations with the team.
He was quoted as saying, “Lewis had a different idea [for the car]. But in the end, we all decided to remain faithful to this concept, encouraged by the good results at the end of last year. Based on our data, it should have worked. But now we have confirmed that we were wrong.”
