It now seems like Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes can’t catch a break from the controversial disqualification at the US GP. Despite the Mexican Grand Prix already going on, F1 legends and an ex-teammate of Hamilton seem to can’t let this issue go. As their recent analysis did not make the LH army happy as the fans brutally criticized the pundits.
F1 legend, Martin Brundle, Hamilton’s ex-teammate, Jenson Button, and former strategy engineer Bernie Collins did a segment on the Sky Sports F1, covering the infamous US GP disqualification. However, it seems like the LH army rather considered their analysis as “accusations”. This led to the Hamilton fans voicing their opinion in a brutally honest manner, whilst defending their F1 hero.
Collins’ main argument was around how much performance could altering the ride height help gain. Sky Sports has often faced flake from Twitter fans on the kind of coverage and analysis they do. This time around, not supporting Hamilton who is the local hero for the Sky personnel hasn’t pleased the core Hamilton fan.

It seems like the LH army did not enjoy the Lewis Hamilton disqualification and Mercedes “accusations’ of the F1 pundits, as boy did they absolutely go hay-wire. Their anger and frustration were clearly visible in the way they wrote the tweets, on Twitter (now X). So much so that some even considered them hypocrites.
Lewis Hamilton disqualification debate makes the LH army angry
The Lewis Hamilton disqualification was already a controversial debate ever since the US GP concluded. The analysis from Button, Brundle, and Collins does not play devil’s advocate for Mercedes and Hamilton. This further is fuelling the LH fans to react quite thunderously.
Sickening narrative on #SkyF1 suggesting that in some way Mercedes deliberately ran too low. Little mention of Ferrari having the same issue, of course.
Can’t stand this bunch of clowns. #F1 #MexicoGP

This fan outright called out the narrative by Sky Sports F1 pundits. With the pundits focusing primarily on Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, it is quite interesting how little the mention of Charles Leclerc and Ferrari was. Perhaps a targeted agenda towards the silver arrows?
This is a pathetic analysis. When the plank was untouched in fp1 , how can you say they did it on purpose? You guys are getting worse by the day.

Some fans considered this analysis absolutely pathetic! The mention of the post-race plank checks being untouched is very interesting and calls for an intriguing debate.
These pundits or the channel won’t say anything to upset @fia or @redbullracing We need fresh challenging presenters. Brundle is totally useless.

This fan made a rather interesting point that the Sky Sports F1 pundits and Sky Sports itself might not be saying anything critical about the FIA and Red Bull. Especially when considering that the sprint format has remained a hotly debated topic, even amongst the F1 drivers. And the fact that the FIA has been questioned for not updating the F1 regulations regarding newer race formats.
Trash analysis, tbh. The whole segment was predicated on the unproven assumption that Mercedes knew there was an issue and chose to run too low anyway. Can you substantiate that? If not, it’s bordering on slanderous.
No mention of Ferrari, either. Your coverage makes me sick.

This tweet resonated with a lot of fans as it deemed the analysis by the Sky Sports F1 pundits as borderline slander! With the segment being based primarily on unproven assumptions, Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are certainly the ones getting affected the most. Especially considering that Ferrari and Charles Leclerc did not get treated the same way that the Silver Arrows have.

Jenson " nobody wants to be caught cheating" except @JensonButton @redbullracing were caught doing exactly that #costcap, & over an entire season, no disqualifications, & a miserable fine. So talk us through how the punishment for @MercedesAMGF1 & @ScuderiaFerrari is comparible

Some fans were clearly not happy with Jenson Button. With him being Hamilton’s ex-teammate, his take was rather somewhat interesting and hypocritical. The callback to Red Bull getting caught for breaching the cost cap. The fines that Red Bull got for cost-cap and what Mercedes got for mere post-race plank checks are rather interesting.
