Both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton drove an incredible race in Spain. It was as if the two Mercedes men received a new lease on life. Most argue the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has always been a favorable track for the German team. However, the other side of the debate credits the new side pod design for the performance of the Mercedes men. However, there is still an area where the revamped W14 lacks. This will be highlighted at the Canadian GP as a Mercedes expert believes the team will have a tough outing in Montreal.

Still, the biggest problem for Mercedes is their pace on the slow-speed corners. When we say time, we mean specifically in the wind tunnel. As we all know, the constructors’ champions get the least amount of time in the wind tunnel. Depending on how a team fares at the end of the season, they get more time in the wind tunnel. “The better Mercedes do the less scope they’ve got for the following year. So you’ve got Aston Martin who are benefitting if you like from a poor performance relatively from last year. The glass ceiling is much higher for them,” said Hill.
