Lando Norris is arguably one of the most prominent F1 drivers, especially among Gen-Z fans. Usually, they are delighted with any Lando Norris content, be it a snapshot of him partying or a cheeky conversation with a fellow driver. But when GQ Sports dropped their interview with Norris and 10 things he can’t live without, fans were not pleased with it.

This Monday, GQ Sports released their video ’10 Things F1 Driver Lando Norris Can’t Live Without’. The McLaren driver spoke of the ten essential things of his daily life.
Lando Norris’ 10 sponsored items he can’t live without
The 10 things described by Lando Norris included his McLaren helmet, golf balls, and trademark hoodie, among other things. However, fans picked a bone with the fact that nine out of ten things described by Norris were branded or things he is partnered with.
In the video, there are golf balls from Titleist Pro V1, a rucksack from Tumi, sunglasses from LN 04, an Alienware gaming setup, the hoodie is from Quadrant (Norris’ sports team), his watch is a Richard Mille watch and the headphones are from Klipsch McLaren.
And the comments section was filled with disappointment from the fans who wished to know more about Norris, and not his sponsorship deals.
“This “Can’t Live Without” topic was fun to watch once in awhile. I’ve noticed that it seems to be migrating to cover more sponsors of a given presenter, rather than what they actually use. I’m a huge F1 fan and really like Lando. It would be nice to learn something about him, other than his sponsorship profile … which I already knew.”
“New title idea : “Lando advertises his sponsors to meet contractual obligations””
“Not surprised at all because this is F1, but this whole video was a brand deal for lando Norris and mclaren. LN karting, tumi, Richard Mille, his brand, Alienware, and mclaren.”
“GQ: Hey Lando do you wanna do our 10 Things you Cant Live without? Lando: Yeah sure, can a promote a couple things? GQ: Yeah sure, how many of your things are promotions? Lando: Yes.”
The reactions on Twitter were not much better.

Obviously this isn’t lando’s fault but I feel like these videos are meant to be enjoyable and you learn something personal about the person on it – not just a giant advert for 11 minutes https://t.co/0wdMoaMAjp

Daniel Ricciardo speaks his mind on Teammate Norris
The fans are not the only ones with things to say about Norris. His current teammate, Daniel Ricciardo, also had some views on him to share recently.
Ricciardo is set to part ways with McLaren by the end of the 2022 season. Norris has so far outperformed Ricciardo on the tracks despite the latter’s experience and expertise. Recently, the Australian driver opened up about why that might be the case.

“The kid’s good. That’s obviously one element – he can steer,” admitted Ricciardo during an interview with The Race, “The second is, ignorance is bliss. And I’m not saying he’s got no knowledge of race cars, not at all. I think he’s quite actually in tune with what he does, from a technical point of view.”
“But it’s the only F1 car he’s driven. Obviously, there have been variations of the McLaren. But he hasn’t driven for another team. So in a way he has got, I’m sure, used to some of the elements of this car.”
