The 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix was a joyous occasion for Lando Norris. The Brit completed his very first double-podium run in this sport since his debut all the way back in 2019. Safe to say, the adrenaline was high, and with his mate, Max Verstappen alongside him on the podium, the 23-year-old got off to execute his trademark ‘champagne-popping’ celebrations. More often than not, the Brit has got it hilariously wrong. This time, however, it was to the detriment of the Dutch lion!

Norris inadvertently tipped Verstappen’s exquisite $40,000 porcelain P1 trophy off the rostrum. Naturally, it broke to pieces. While Verstappen wasn’t exactly bereaved, the whole incident became a viral sensation. What’s more? The CEO of Herend Porcelánmanufaktúra Zrt, the company that crafts and manufactures that particular trophy for F1, promised Verstappen a replacement. After almost two months, that day finally arrived!

This ‘controversy’ had dragged on for far too long. Finally, the 2x champion came onto his Instagram account to share an update with his fans. Just after his glorious Dutch GP win, Verstappen was presented with yet another P1 trophy. This time, though, it was with a retrospective effect.

Verstappen shared a series of pictures from the cozy little event where the Red Bull racing hero was re-bestowed with his prized possession. And Norris was in attendance, too. Verstappen posted the pictures and captioned it, “It’s fixed!”

Verstappen even joked that Norris was the one to foot the whole bill in the very last slide of the post. But it wasn’t all fun and games between them.

Moments after reunion, Verstappen shoots a warning at Norris

Lighting doesn’t strike twice. That being said, Verstappen isn’t someone who’d take comfort in idioms. As it turns out, just moments after he was reunited with his beloved trophy, the flying Dutchman jokingly issued an order for the McLaren racing ace.

In a video posted by Red Bull, Verstappen can be seen holding the trophy while Norris and the others look on. That’s when he cheekily said, “Lando is not allowed to touch it,” while obviously referring to Norris’ shenanigans leading to the sad disintegration of the trophy in the first place.
