How important is aerodynamics to a Formula 1 car, you ask? The shape of the car and how air passes through it have a big role to play in the fate of how the world championship pans out for drivers and teams. To improve their future performances, McLaren has installed a $100 million biggie in their factory. Within hours of that announcement, Zak Brown has come all guns blazing to send chills down the spines of the dominating Max Verstappen.
It has been a domination and a half from Red Bull this year. While the competition behind them has kept changing, Brown now believes that McLaren is ready to take the next big step. The Woking outfit now has its own $100 million dollars-worth wind tunnel in its factory. Along with that, a flurry of changes in the management structure is lined up. Synergizing these complimentary steps, Brown has claimed that they will have the power to overthrow Max Verstappen and Co. off their pedestal in the World Championship.

However good they might be right now, they have never built an engine for their car. It has always been outsourced. But with the 2026 regulations, Zak Brown reckons that the Milton-Keynes outfit will lose their advantage.
âYou look down the grid, thereâs as many unknowns about â26,â Brown told ESPN. âRed Bull with a new engine. Howâs that going to be? Theyâve never done that before. Thereâs all sorts of variables going on there and I think our story is as good as anyoneâs.â
