After an impressive run that has had the community buzzing, the formidable Aussie, Oscar Piastri, is bracing for turbulence at the upcoming Mexican Grand Prix. The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit in Mexico City appears to be an Achilles heel for the McLaren team, with its unique challenges seemingly unsuitable for their car’s dynamics. That, coupled with the young gun’s debut appearance on the track, forecasts a race weekend filled with intrigue and drama.
Coming off the back of a mixed-bag US Grand Prix where teammate Lando Norris secured second place, while Piastri sadly didn’t see the checkered flag, the stakes are high for McLaren. Not to forget Piastri’s commendable second-place finish in Qatar that had fans on the edge of their seats.

Oscar Piastri Prepares to Go Down Fighting at Mexican GP
With a hint of optimism in his voice, Piastri remarked, “It’s a very different circuit. It’s my first time here so it will be a lot of learning for myself to do. But hopefully, we can still be in the fight with the teams we’re around…” That learning curve seems steep, as he went on to detail the intricate challenges of the track. “There’s a lot of challenging parts. The run to turn one is extremely long and getting the braking point right will be difficult. The stadium section is very, very slow, and easy to make a mistake.”

In a candid chat with Sky Sports F1, Piastri chuckled, “My signature now is significantly shorter than it was at the start of the season.” Explaining his initial rookie hiccup, he said, “I couldn’t get through… anything with my signature at the start of the season.”
But now? “Now I can sign even more things for more people, and my hand doesn’t get quite as tired as well. Win-win!” he added with a grin.
