Oscar Piastri has arguably been the best rookie this season, impressing everyone with his skills and beating Lando Norris on multiple occasions. However, that isn’t the only thing that is appreciated about the Australian but also his cool, calm, and collected nature as well. Nonetheless, even Piastri couldn’t hold back at the Qatar GP after the Mercedes fiasco and now Lando Norris adds a 5 word diss to Lewis Hamilton’s wounds.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris both finished on the podium at the Qatar GP. While Mercedes had the race pace for the podium, the lap 1 incident where Lewis Hamilton crashed into George Russell ruined everything for the Silver Arrows. Oscar Piastri first thanked Mercedes on his radio for clearing the way. Then after the race, when Piastri realized that the Mercedes drivers took each other out, he laughed and said, “Thank you, Mercedes.”

Lando Norris might’ve finished behind Oscar Piastri at the Qatar GP but wasn’t left behind when it came to scraping Lewis Hamilton and Co’s wound. The young Brit recently commented on the incident between Hamilton and Russell. He advised how McLaren was worried about Mercedes’ pace. However, once Russell and Hamilton crashed, he thanked them inside the helmet.

According to Channel 4, Lando Norris said, “They [McLaren] seemed to be worried about George and the Mercedes. We expected them to be very quick today but they did a lovely job of just getting out the way into Turn 1. I thanked them inside my helmet.” Adding the 5 word diss he said, “I actually said thank you.”

While Lando Norris and George Russell are very good mates, the Papaya driver made sure to press hard on Mercedes at exactly where it’s hurting them at the moment. Nonetheless, it wasn’t all down to the Mercedes drivers helping the Papaya team. The team itself has moved forward a lot. But who’s the main man responsible for the gains?

McLaren started the season on the back foot. However, ever since the new wind tunnel has come online, the fortunes seem to have changed. However, Zak Brown, who put Andrea Stella under the gun when the car wasn’t performing, actually hailed the McLaren TP for his efforts in pushing the car to the level that it had reached. And Sam Power added to those comments by praising the job that Stella is doing.

During the F1 Nation podcast, Sam Power said, “They [McLaren] are not to be underestimated. Andrea Stella is doing a sensational job. He’s galvanizing the team. I was watching him in Singapore. You know, he took his time actually to go to each member of the team and the hospitality. Making sure that they feel – just – it seems something that (what) they are building is fantastic.”
