It’s the 2022 British GP, and Lando Norris, Alex Albon, and George Russell are in an interview with Channel 4. During the conversation, they established that Russell drives a Mercedes road car and Norris “obviously” drives a McLaren. Considering Williams doesn’t have a road car, Albon was asked what he drove (or is Uber his go-to option). Norris replied, “I Uber for him,” to which Albon said, “He does, actually. Lando picks me up from my place to go golfing.” Well, it seems like the McLaren driver has upgraded his Monaco ride, and Albon will be treated to very luxurious Uber rides.
Monaco is a country that’s all about glitz and glamor. Although driving around in a McLaren is glamorous as it is, Norris decided to take it a step further. But the car under him wasn’t what caught everyone’s attention. It was his actions from inside the car that were the subject of the matter.

Lando Norris fully embraced his F1 driver self in Monaco
It’s no secret F1 drivers are a few of the highest-paid athletes in the world. Living among the elite in Monaco, Norris decided to flaunt his new ride as night fell in Monte Carlo. Presumably heading home after dinner last night, Norris got into a royal blue Lamborghini Miura. A vintage sports car manufactured from 1966 to 1973, there’s nothing about the car that shouts “ordinary,” especially not its $1.5 million price tag.

It’s also no secret that F1 drivers have a knack for engaging in X-rated conversations and rants. There are quite a few things that get them riled up. Case in point: Max Verstappen shouting at his engineer over the airwaves at the Belgian GP when he almost got eliminated in Q2. The thing is, swearing and X-rated shenanigans have become so natural to them that they use them even for fun. That’s precisely what Norris did in Monaco.
Per the video of Norris posted on X, he got into the car and looked at the person recording him. He smiled and held up his middle finger, smiled again, and drove off into the night. The user captioned the post, “Lando spotted in Monaco in a new car😂 it’s a Lamborghini Miura🔥.” Everyone knew it was in good fun, and Lando’s antics weren’t perceived as offensive. He may not find the need to admit to his shenanigans in Monaco, but he didn’t hold back while admitting to another X-rated situation this past week.
Norris wasn’t too pleased with Sergio Perez at the Japanese GP
Before heading to Monaco for a week’s break, Norris was in Suzuka for the Japanese GP. That weekend was a dream for McLaren, with Oscar Piastri qualifying in P2 and Norris in P3. The duo capped it off with a 2-3 finish in the race as well—Norris ahead of Piastri. After the race, though, Norris couldn’t help but mention how he could’ve finished closer than the mammoth 19.7s gap Verstappen created. And it was all because of Sergio Perez.

Norris on VSC issue with Perez:
"I didn't know and I couldn't take the risk of overtaking him. I was on the outside because he was going so slow and he almost crashed into me. I was swearing quite a bit. The ferraris were 1.4s after being 13s behind me"pic.twitter.com/0clJ2KJeoC

During a Virtual Safety Car early in the race, Norris was stuck behind the damaged RB19 of Perez. The Mexican was driving way below his delta, slowing Norris down, while Verstappen stuck to his speed and pulled away in front. In the post-race press conference, Norris said, “I didn’t know if he had a problem or whether he was just backing me up. I was on the outside of him because he was going so slow, and he almost crashed into me. I was shouting in my helmet, and was swearing quite a bit. ‘I’m losing time to Max.’ The Ferrari guys were, I think, 1.4 seconds behind after being 12 or 13. So I lost 10 seconds.”
