There is one thing that the podium has seen more of than the best drivers in the world – their whacky celebrations, of course! Whether it’s Sebastian Vettel’s Egyptian walk or it’s Daniel Ricciardo selecting the victims for his next shoey; sometimes the entertainment ends when we get to the podium and not at the checkered flag.

However, there’s one man who has yet to perfect his podium celebration after stepping on the podium on thirteen occasions; none of which have been on the top step unfortunately. But Lando Norris was ecstatic when he stepped on the podium at the Hungarian GP, only a week after he finished second in front of his home crowd at Silverstone.

In classic Norris fashion, the 23-year-old slammed the champagne on the top step to open the bottle, but was met with Max Verstappen’s trophy instead! Down came the Dutch Lion’s first-place reward, with Mclaren and Red Bull exchanging banter on the socials, denying any bad blood between them.

The rest was history and the fans couldn’t help but mock Norris’ Belgian GP radio message, ‘I can’t! It’s broken!”

While Max Verstappen got a replacement soon enough, Lando Norris will want to be extra careful if he ends up winning the Las Vegas GP after visiting the podium thirteen times without getting the P1 trophy. And when @f1lasvegas posted the Sin City trophy on its Instagram, fans were quick to bring up Norris’ affinity for breaking the trophy.

‘Let’s hope it’s unbreakable!’ Lando Norris can’t catch a ‘break’ after his Hungarian shenanigans

The post showed a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the Las Vegas GP trophy. While the video didn’t show us the finished product in the flesh, there was a glimpse of what the final trophy would look like. Although the trophy was intricately designed, the fans were more worried about the danger it faced from Lando Norris!

“Don’t break yours” – The last time around, it was Max Verstappen. But if Norris throws caution out of the window, this user thinks Norris should watch for karma!

“Is it Lando Norris proof?” – Given how easily the delicate yet beautiful Hungarian GP trophy shattered, this user hoped F1 had taken extra steps to ensure the Las Vegas GP trophy would be unfazed by Lando Norris’ shenanigans.

“I hate to say that’s gonna be Max’s new trophy” – It’s not just Lando Norris who has to be careful! The Dutch Lion will be taking extra steps just like he had stated in the Hungarian GP post-race conference, most likely cradling it far from Norris’ reach. Last but not least, this user gave an easy solution to the threat of Lando Norris, “Just go ahead and mail it to Max’s house 📮”
