The Rookie of the Year will probably go to Oscar Piastri. The Australian has been right up there with his teammate, Lando Norris. While there were differences at the start of the season, the upgraded McLaren really brought out the skills of the Australian. However, as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took on the track challenge, the young Brit easily called his teammate a snake. But why?

Do you recall the video that recently surfaced where Charles Leclerc was seen Karting late in the night? For every F1 driver, it all starts with karting. This is where they learn the basics and mechanisms of an open-wheel car. Most F1 drivers keep in touch with Karting as it’s very helpful during the off time. However, Lando Norris recently made a shocking statement about Karting, followed by the ‘Snake’ attack.

Lando Norris during a YouTube video said, “I haven’t been in a go kart for way too long, over a year I would say almost. Let me just over there nice and early. Oscar has been testing. Oscar has been a little snake and has been testing. He’s been testing a few different tracks. So he’s warm and ready. And I’m not, so a little bit on the backfoot”

Lando Norris advised how he’s been away from karting and how Oscar Piastri, on the other hand, has been karting a lot. Nonetheless, Norris probably didn’t mean what he said as he complimented Oscar Piastro for McLaren’s resurgence.

Lando Norris compliments Rookie Oscar Piastri for McLaren’s turnaround

Remember how it was recently revealed that Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have the very same feedback for the MCL60. This in turn helps the mechanics with the correlation of data. The Briton recently came out and explained the role that Oscar Piastei played in McLaren’s resurrection.

According to crash.net, Lando Norris said, “I obviously played a huge role, no, he’s developed a decent amount but he started off on probably one of the best baselines a rookie’s ever started off on coming into F1. So I think he’s made a good amount of development, but the better thing is just how he started from the first race weekend itself.”
