Lando Norris calls Formula 1 his part-time job. Well, he doesn’t even call it a job because of how much he loves racing. So, F1 is something he loves doing part-time. In all this free time he has (not), the 24-year-old has developed a liking for a number of things over the years. In the 2022 season, DJing was his go-to hobby—traveling with and learning from DJs like Martin Garrix and Zedd. Despite all the fun he had, Norris went from DJing parties to giving up the turntables within a few months while he may have left the DJing world behind, the DJing community sure hasn’t left him (if the Las Vegas GP was anything to go by).

“Sadly, my DJ career has come to an end. [I didn’t like] the lifestyle that comes with it,” said Norris at the start of this year. “I think what was cool about it all was I just got to meet some cool people and some different people.” Looks like the people he met felt the same because Norris had his own support system in Vegas.

The Las Vegas GP was a ‘DJs love Lando Norris’ affair

If there was going to be a star-studded race to beat this season, it was always going to be the Las Vegas GP. Everywhere the cameras panned, a celebrity was in view. Whether it be Rihanna in the Ferrari garage, James Corden in the Aston Martin camp, Shaquille O’Neil, David Beckham, or even Justin Beiber waving the chequered flag, the Las Vegas GP was nothing short of an A-listers’ congregation.

Among all these stars were DJs as well, most of whom were there as the race’s guests but couldn’t help but gravitate toward supporting McLaren. Why? The Lando Norris effect. As Norris mentioned, during his time trying out turntables with DJs all around the world, he made some really good friends; Martin Garrix being one of them, so much so that Norris abandoned an on-track interview before the race to give his friend a hug. Photographers captured the moment, and Garrix posted the picture on his Instagram. He wasn’t the only one to feature Norris on their feed, though.

American DJ Christopher Comstock, popularly known as Marshmello, seemed just as thrilled to meet the McLaren driver in the team’s hospitality suite. He, too, posted a picture with Norris on Instagram. The 24-year-old reposted both posts on his story, evidently appreciating the support they showed him throughout the weekend. While Norris’ weekend may not have gone his way, he sure must’ve liked seeing the support he had from the friends he made during his short stint in the music industry.

Even though he’s shied away from DJing, that didn’t stop him from spending time with one of his on-track besties and Martin Garrix after the race.

Norris, Garrix, and Verstappen reunited in Las Vegas

Martin Garrix is Dutch. So is Max Verstappen. Garrix and Verstappen are good friends. So are Verstappen and Norris. Because of the Verstappen connection, Norris and Garrix have become really good friends. Remember how, as soon as the summer break started, Norris and Verstappen flew to the Tomorrowland Music Festival to cheer their mutual friend during his show? Well, the Las Vegas GP gave the trio more time to spend together.

The main race didn’t last long for Norris as he crashed out on Lap 4. On the other hand, Verstappen’s party started on the circuit as he won his 18th race of 2023. After hating on Vegas the entire weekend and saying how he likes it for the nightlife and not to race F1 cars around, he stayed true to what he said. The Verstappen, Norris, and Garrix trio entered Omnia Club in Caesars Palace at 4:00 am on Sunday and partied till the club closed. Garrix even took over DJ duties and wrapped up the night.
