And then came the cherry on top. Renowned F1 connoisseur, Peter Windsor, recently took to YouTube to share his two cents on rookies needing a year to adjust to F1. Windsor’s take? Complete hogwash! Drawing attention to Piastri, Windsor said, “Look at Oscar. He’s actually a lot better now than Daniel, and he’s, uh, not as a direct comparison, but I think he’s doing much better in the McLaren than Daniel would have been, and, uh, he’s, you know, slightly better than Lando, isn’t he? He’s in his first year of Formula One.“

And he didn’t stop there. Citing legends like Jackie Stewart and Mario Andretti, who sparkled in their rookie years, Windsor debunked the rookie myth. He added, “You don’t need a year to get used to Formula One, not if you’re good.” So, whether you’re Team Lando, Team Daniel, or have just hopped onto the Piastri bandwagon, one thing’s for certain – this season is serving us some scorching McLaren drama, and we’re here for it!
