McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo was not able to show his pace in yesterday’s qualifying session. Hence, the Woking-based outfit are considering bringing in a new powerunit for the Turkish Grand Prix.
The Australian was the sixteenth fastest of the session, but a new engine would see him start at the back of the grid. Team Principal Andreas Seidl has stated that he would still have to discuss it with his colleagues from Mercedes.

The 8-time Grand Prix winner was hoping to crack Q3 in yesterday’s qauli session. However, Ricciardo found himself getting knocked out in the first round itself. Hence, in order to salvage their weekend, McLaren might opt for a new engine, which will see Daniel start at the back of the grid.
As quoted by Auto Motor Und Sport, Seidl said, “We still have to discuss that with our colleagues from Mercedes. Actually, the change was not on the program this weekend.” (Translated from German via Google)

Can Lando and Daniel salvage their team’s weekend in Istanbul?
The Woking-based team have a tough race ahead of them this weekend at the Istanbul Park. On one end, they are pleased to see Lando Norris start in eighth place, while on the other they are disappointed to see Ricciardo start in sixteenth.
Nevertheless, the Seidl-led team hopes that both their drivers can pick up the pace, and bag some much-needed points for the constructor’s championship.
McLaren currently sits in third place in the team standings, while their rivals, Ferrari are just a place behind them. Hence, in order to extend their lead from the Italian team, they hope Daniel and Lando have a stellar weekend in Istanbul this weekend.
