Thanks to this added interest in the lives of the drivers among other F1 entities, partly if not entirely because of a show, we can connect with them on a more personal level. This connection also gives us insights that we would not be privy to in the past. However, now that we have the information we do on our F1 stars, it shows us the interesting side of them and helps us make some connections we would’ve never been able to. Such is the case with McLaren man Lando Norris and Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.
The two on the surface look nothing like each other. However, after Norris made a revelation about his personal life, especially his eating habits on the latest YouTube video on Tom Daley‘s channel, we now know Norris and Toto Wolff share one trait. Let’s talk about Norris first.

The race weekends are tough on a driver with the hustle, the nerves, and obviously the physical exertion. This is exactly why Norris likes a light lunch, and in his lunch, he likes one specific thing. The same thing he can’t live without and he would give up racing if he did not get it. In fact, Norris revealed he likes his lunch so much he hasn’t changed for 2/3 years.
“I don’t eat a lot on race day just because of nerves and I’ve never been a big eater. I have a very small breakfast, just like poached eggs on toast or something, some avocado, and lunch will be like a little chicken wrap. I’ve had the same lunch for probably the last two or three years I would say,” he revealed.
In his defense, he explained, “Because I find one thing I love and I just stick to it and that’s all I have! It’s a chicken teriyaki with some pineapple. Little thing that I love gives me a good amount of energy and carbs or whatever it is but then I stick it and go race.”
This admission from Norris has striking similarities to Wolff’s admission of his routine, especially during the race weekends and whenever he’s traveling.
Toto Wolff is also a one-lunch type of guy as the Austrian boss likes to cut out the trivial decision-making
Perhaps not for the same reason, but Wolff and Norris share this trait of sticking to their routine when it comes to meals during race weekends. Understandably, deciding what to eat right after a hectic and draining day in the office while being on the road must be extremely annoying. So the two have cut this daily decision-making out of their routine.

The Mercedes boss revealed his routine back in July while talking to the Sun. He said, “I’m wearing the same clothes, I’m eating the same food – even to the point that my assistants book the same hotel room for me every single year.”
Elaborating on his food, he added, “Small cappuccino – because I take half a cappuccino because I want to have another half an hour later – and then it’s chicken breast with tomato salad. And I have the same for dinner also!”
