Upcoming McLaren star Lando Norris recently appeared at the Brit Awards 2022. The latest edition of the event took place at the O2 arena in London on the 8th of February. Norris’ girlfriend Luisinha Oliveira accompanied him at the prestigious award ceremony where British singer and songwriter Adele dominated the star-studded night along with personalities like Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo.
Norris had an impressive F1 season with the Woking-based outfit. The young Brit finished 6th in the Drivers’ standings, ahead of highly rated teammate Daniel Ricciardo. With the growing popularity of the sport, young stars like Norris are getting much-deserved recognition outside the sporting community as well.

Alpine F1 duo Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon also attended the prestigious Ballon d’Or football awards held in Paris in November last year. Chiefly, it’s a pleasure for F1 fans to see upcoming talents like Norris getting up on the stage to present these prestigious awards. Norris, alongside British actress Jaime Winstone, presented the award for best Pop/R&B act at the BRIT 2022.
Dua Lipa, the winner in the Pop category, was not present to receive the award. However, she had a virtual message for the fans, which was played out on the screen after Norris announced her as the winner.

Lando Norris named Autosport’s British Competition Driver of the Year
On a distinct note, the popular F1 website Autosport has named Lando Norris as the best British driver of 2021, ahead of George Russell. After large-scale voting among the readers, the sports website came out with Norris as the winner. Autosport Awards honored him at a live event in Grosvenor House on Park Lane on the 6th of February.

Pat Symonds, Chief Technical Officer of F1, presented the award to Lando Norris. The young driver was not present at the event, but he provided a video message upon receiving the award. “In a way, this is more important than winning the Formula 1 world championship as this is voted for by the fans. Hopefully, this season is even better at McLaren,” said Norris, as reported by Motorsport.com.

2021 was Norris’ best season so far. He stepped up his game by a mile, especially in the first half where he bagged 3 podiums.
