The stars aligned perfectly for Kevin Magnussen as he took his first-ever pole position in F1. In what was a superb turn of events, the Dane beat everyone on the grid to start tomorrow’s sprint in P1. However, he also had Mercedes driver George Russell to thank for his triumph. The Briton spun into the gravel and the qualifying session was red-flagged.

There will be mixed feelings in the Mercedes camp after Russell spun into the gravel. While he secured P3 for tomorrow’s sprint, his teammate Lewis Hamilton will start the race from P8. Often known as the epitome of consistency, fans believe Mr. Saturday Russell managed to get the job done by hook or by crook.
Kevin Magnussen’s pole position certainly surprised most of the F1 fans. However, George Russell successfully raised a few eyebrows of his own. Moreover, many fans called the former Williams driver the ‘villain’ as he ruined the qualifying for the other drivers.

Despite the unfortunate crash, George Russell will start tomorrow’s sprint race from P3. Also, Russell has an excellent chance to catch up on the front 2.
