Daniel Ricciardo may have had his heated moments with Max Verstappen, yet the duo has been quite friendly. It may be because they are not fighting on track since Ricciardo left Red Bull. Nevertheless, both drivers always hit it off and seem to care for each other. And this care was evident at one hilarious moment in 2019.

During a 2019 interview with Ziggo Sport, Daniel Ricciardo spotted his former teammate Max Verstappen coming towards him. As he saw the Dutchman was all sweaty, he asked him for the reason. And what followed was a hilarious conversation.
Verstappen said, “I went for a run and I got a bit too excited. I have a very sweaty b*llsack at the moment.”
To this, Daniel chuckled and asked the Red Bull driver whether he was wearing any underwear during his run. The Aussie further advised Max about the running routine.
Daniel said, “I just wouldn’t advise running without underwear because then it starts to you know chaffing and you get the rash on the inside of your leg.”
While they knew the layered serious and humorous aspects of the conversation, they kept bantering.
Max asked whether Daniel experienced the same by saying, “You had that before? I might give it a try back in Monaco [their home] and then I’ll knock on your door: Daniel Look!”
No one knows if Verstappen actually tried it, but the interaction showed a deeper connection between him and Ricciardo. Despite all their history as teammates, their level of respect and bonding has just grown over the last few years.
When Max Verstappen distracted Daniel Ricciardo
For some reason, Verstappen and Ricciardo love to interrupt each other’s interviews. Besides the b*llsack moment, there was another recent incident when the Dutchman distracted Daniel Ricciardo during a press conference in Japan.
On a weekend when Max was on the verge of sealing his 2nd title, he was sitting beside Daniel in the Thursday press conference. As Japan had social distancing norms at the event, there were transparent walls between the drivers.
Verstappen initially imitated a mime to amuse the Australian. Then, as Daniel was answering about his top-5 finish at the Singapore GP, Max tried to prompt him as the McLaren man was lost for words.
Ricciardo was describing how he felt about his Marina Bay performance with terms such as “relieved”, “pleased”, and “happy”. As Daniel fumbled, Max silently prompted him to say “h*rny”.

The comfort level this duo has been at ever since their battles at Red Bull is quite amazing. It feels weird to think that the Honey Badger wanted to leave the team back in 2018 due to his probable feud with Verstappen.
