In a fiercely competitive sport like F1, one needs to have the utmost level of dedication to their career in order to succeed. However, when F1 drivers embark on their adventure at a young age they require intense parental direction in order to turn their hobby into an obsession. Max Verstappen has been really fortunate in this scenario since the Dutchman received advice or, more accurately, very strict parenting from the time he was a little child. And evidence suggests that the Dutchman is the undisputed ruler of the F1 racetrack thanks to his father, Jos Verstappen’s strict training regimen.
The F1 fans are simply bewildered as to how a 25-year-old had reached such a level of perfection that too at such a young age. However, the most recent documentary about Max Verstappen will provide the younger generation with a valuable lesson about the ‘Mad Max Persona‘. “Max Verstappen: Anatomy of a Champion” aspires to reveal the complex personality hiding behind the extraordinary skill displayed by Max Verstappen by offering viewers and F1 fanatics a rare, intimate peek into his life.
Recently, a tweet surfaced on the internet from the newly released documentary that showcases what it takes to become Max Verstappen. The tweet elaborates that one must begin the preparations at a very young age if one intends to be such a ruthless driver. To put it briefly, many ambitious racers might have the goal of becoming like Max Verstappen, and to do so, they have to sit in the racing car as early as 3,4, or 5 years old.

The tweet reads” If you want to be as good as Max Verstappen you have to be racing cars at 3,4, or 5 years old. You have to be living, breathing the sport everyday of your life through your childhood.” Such are the standards set by Max Verstappen for the upcoming generation.
Verstappen presently enjoys a very strong position in the legends list. The Dutchman has won 37 races and is in contention to win his third consecutive championship. However, who knows what the story may have been if Verstappen had initially sided with Mercedes. Yes! Mercedes did look to introduce the current Red Bull driver to Formula One, back in 2015. And recently Toto Wolff has revealed the whole scenario.

Just consider the Silver Arrows squad’s fan base if Lewis and Max had both driven for the same team. Motorsports Italy asked Toto Wolff, the team boss for the Brackley-based squad if the German manufacturers missed out on Verstappen in 2015 to the cost of the Dutch driver. To that Wolff responded as per GPfans, “Yes. We had Lewis and Nico and both had long-term contracts, Max was clearly an interesting youngster but at that moment we could have offered him a place in GP2 and then maybe a contract.”
Wolff further added how he advised the Dutchman to go with the Red Bull call-up. He said, “ But Helmut was able to offer him a seat in Formula 1 and in the end, I also advised him to go that route. And that meant seeing him leave the Mercedes orbit.”
