Jos Verstappen has recently talked about his son, Max Verstappen. Max Verstappen, the current F1 World Champion, has been on the news lately. Amid this, there were speculations that Max could’ve changed teams had he not achieved this feat with Red Bull.

Verstappen claimed his maiden F1 title with Red Bull last season. Despite everything going against the Dutchman, he managed to overtake Lewis Hamilton on the very last lap of the race to snatch the championship away from him. He is the second Red Bull driver to give the Austrian team a taste of success after Sebastian Vettel.

Talking about Max and his championship title, the former F1 driver, Jos Verstappen, has conveyed, ”What Max says, it’s a bonus. Winning the world championship was the goal and he succeeded. I think that also gives us rest. Otherwise you have to constantly push yourself. Maybe you would have changed teams to achieve this, but I’m so happy that we managed to take that title with Red Bull. They gave Max a chance to get into F1 and now we can move on for a long time.”

Max started his F1 career with Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) with a full-time seat in 2015. Scuderia Toro Rosso is the sister team of Red Bull Racing. In 2015, Max was just 17 years old, and becoming a driver for Toro Rosso made him the youngest driver to ever race in Formula 1. After pretty decent performances with the team, Verstappen made his move to Red Bull. He debuted for Red Bull in 2016 and drove alongside Daniel Ricciardo.
