Jos has a blog where he usually pens down his thoughts regarding various occurrences in F1. While usually, he’s happy with a Verstappen Jr. win, this time around his frustration was clear, as he called out Red Bull. F1 Red flags do not impress Verstappen Sr.
Jos also criticized the current red flag procedures. Only last year, Charles Leclerc had earned a pole lap in Monaco and crashed, as Max couldn’t lock in his flying lap. This year, too, Perez’s unprecedented spin stopped the Dutchman from becoming a potential pole sitter.

However, Jos used Yuki Tsunoda’s barrier touch example and wrote, “Besides, red flags are thrown fast these days. Tsunoda hit the barrier with his left front wheel during qualifying, and a red flag was waved immediately. By doing that, you ruin every other driver’s lap.”
