Max Verstappen is en route to becoming one of the best in F1. His entire season in 2020 had been on the tail of Mercedes. However, the equations have changed since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Agreed that the AMGs were running on reduced power, but Max really put up a show at Yas Marina.

Max Verstappen’s last win this season was the 70th anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone. With Mercedes suffering from tyre problems, Max had raced ahead to the chequered flag. However, through the season, the AMGs gained up and Max went tumbling down.

Max Verstappen-youngest to win 10 Grand Prix

Yet, towards the end of the season, the Red Bull Mercedes rendezvous got very exciting. Although Lewis Hamilton won the Bahrain Grand Prix, he had the Milton Keynes outfit surrounding him on the podium. Who knew, by the third weekend, so much would have changed.

By the time Lewis was back from the COVID setback following the Sakhir Grand Prix, Verstappen had established quite a lead. Agreed, Lewis was not in his best form but, Verstappen was roaring in his RB16 like a beast. Setting himself well in P1 at the Starting Grid of Abu Dhabi Verstappen went onto win by 16 seconds. However, that was not his only achievement that day.

Max was already the youngest racer to have raced in an F1 Grand Prix ever. He improves on that with his Abu Dhabi win. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix being his 10th race win in F1, Max Verstappen is the youngest ever to have achieved it. The FIA recently released their stats, and it has Max beating Vettel by 60 days.

Max requires a strong teammate-Red Bull

Max Verstappen is a gem in the Red Bull team. Agreed he had been an arrogant teenager in his early days at Red Bull, but he has learned a lot in his time on track. He has matured a lot, and that is being noticed. His Abu Dhabi stint received a lot of attention in the paddock; and Red Bull are already strong contenders for next year.

Red Bull have a lot on their plate. They are in a dilemma about both Perez and Albon. After Albon’s cracking P4 at Yas Marina, Red Bull doesn’t know yet what to do. Both the Mexican and the Thai have put up a solid case for themselves. Now, Dr. Marko will have to make a wise choice for 2021. Well, how fruitful, only time will tell.
