The first sprint weekend of the calendar, the Azerbaijan GP, offered up more excitement than one could’ve hoped for. This was all thanks to a last-minute introduction of a revamped format. The new format received a lot of mixed reactions. However, not all reactions were positive, especially and most notably from Max Verstappen. The Dutchman did not want to step away from the sport’s DNA and add more stress to an already exhausting sprint weekend. However, the governing body still went ahead with the proposed plan and most drivers welcomed the change. In fact, Fernando Alonso made a suggestion that the Dutchman will not appreciate.
After the weekend in Baku, the Aston Martin man divulged in hypotheticals with news outlet Speed Cafe. In these hypotheticals, Alonso discussed the aspect he does not like and how he would like to see more changes to the already revamped sprint weekend.

After discussing his problem, Alonso also took the opportunity to demand more changes. He said, “We can maybe spice up things a little bit more for Saturday’s qualifying.”
