After conquering the pinnacle of motorsport, two-time world champion Max Verstappen has announced that he will race in the 2022-23 Le Mans Virtual Series. The Dutchman will be joined by former F1 driver Romain Grosjean on the grid. Verstappen previously participated in the January edition. However, he crashed out after taking the lead in the race.

The Red Bull driver will drive the #1 Team Redline LMP. He will share the car with Jeffrey Reitveld, the reigning world champion, and Maximilian Benecke. Benecke recently won the BMW Sim GT Cup championship.
Furthermore, IndyCar sensation and former F1 driver Romain Grosjean is expected to join the grid as well. He will line up for his own Esports team, the R8G Esports squad. Grosjean’s teammates will be Martin Hemmingsen and Ulas Ozyildirim.
The announcement was made on Twitter by the official account of Le Mans Virtual. The tweet read, “Yes, the rumours are true. @Max33Verstappen will be returning to the #LeMansVirtual grid for Round 3 of the 2022 Series. Once you’ve conquered the peak of IRL racing, you may as well try the peak of sim racing too. And to all of the orange army, you can thank us later!”
Verstappen would hope to keep his previous frustrations away when he takes the wheel this time. He lost pole position by 0.002 seconds last time.
Knowing Verstappen, he would treat this series the same way he’d treat an F1 race. Can the Dutch driver improve this time?
