Max Verstappen has arguably been Lewis Hamilton’s adversary ever since he stepped into that Red Bull. Now you might think he wasn’t even close to the seven-time champion till 2021. But, given the fashion in which Verstappen has driven, it was certain that the Dutchman will someday harm the legacy of the Great Britain driver. As per stats, Lewis Hamilton is still ahead of the mighty Red Bull driver. But some people still place the Dutch Lion in the same league as the Mercedes champion. And it is hard to argue with that while looking at what Verstappen managed to achieve last year. And now, as it turns out, during the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Max Verstappen will have his own grandstand.
During the weekend of the Grand Prix, Grandstand G will become the Max Verstappen Grandstand. The grandstand is located at turn 13, giving it a fantastic view of both the straight ahead and the next corner. Now, this new gambit might be a tough pill to swallow for Lewis Hamilton’s fans.

The official Twitter account for Verstappen.com shared the news. In the video, we can hear him recounting his experience of his first victory in F1, which he got in Spain, during his Red Bull Racing debut.
He said, “To get my first victory was something very special. Yeah, it feels amazing. My first win, I still can’t believe it, really. It was an amazing race. Yeah, that was great. A lot of Dutch fans were also here, and they were cheering a lot that was incredible.”

During a Grand Prix, it is common for drivers to have their own grandstand. Charles Leclerc fans were given their own stands for the Monaco GP in 2021. Verstappen has had not one, not two, but three races with designated stands for his fans in the same year in Hungary, Austria, and Belgium. Lewis Hamilton fans, however, haven’t had the same honor.
Why is Spanish Grand Prix special for Max Verstappen?
Verstappen, who made his racing debut with Toro Rosso in 2015, needed just one season to make it to the top team in the sport. He made his debut at the age of 17, making him the youngest driver to participate in F1. A year later, at the Spanish Grand Prix, he won his first race for Red Bull. Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, both driving for Mercedes, collided, rendering both vehicles useless. Verstappen and Red Bull competed against Ferrari for the victory, and Verstappen ultimately proved to be the faster driver.
F1 Twitter fans were in splits after Verstappen’s announcement. Given below are some of their reactions.

This past season, Max Verstappen and Red Bull were in a league of their own, and the orange army supporters had a great time seeing the Dutchman win 15 of the 22 races. However, with the team’s upcoming challenges, majorly the reduction in their wind tunnel time, the Dutch Lion may have a hard year. Do you think the Red Bull ace will have to fight his competitors this year, or will he win his third consecutive championship easily?
