Max Verstappen is a generational talent. After Ayrton Senna, Max Verstappen has been one of the very few who have been able to stand on the very same pedestal as the Brazilian. That being said, the magnitude of the greatness that he as a driver has achieved is not lost on the 2x Champion.

We all knew what Max Verstappen could achieve. But the very first World Championship he won with Red Bull solidified that belief in us. But what did the man himself think of the year and the finale in which he won and got hold of his lifelong ambition?
“It was all very emotional,” he told GQ correspondent Daniel Riley. “A lot of things flash back from all the years. I’m not really an emotional guy, but my in-lap was pretty emotional.”
His father has been an instrumental figure in his success. And his first words after the Championship win are as poignant as words can ever be.
“We did it!”
Even though the 2x Champion may be on the top of the world after his Championship triumph in Japan. His Brazilian Grand Prix antics have left one particular Formula 1 World Champion not so pleased.
Jenson Button slams selfish Max Verstappen for Brazilian GP antics
At the Brazilian GP, Verstappen didn’t allow his teammate Sergio Perez to pass even though the Dutch driver got the position from Checo in the first place. Perez expected to be let by as he was fighting for P2 in the Championship. Ex-F1 champion Jenson Button has now had his say on the entire matter.

Talking on the show Any Driven Monday, he began, “I’m more amazed by Checo’s comment, I love it, ‘shows who he really is'”

He then went on to question Verstappen’s antics during the race.
“It doesn’t come across well, and when you hear his comments saying ‘no I’m not letting him past, I’ve got my reasons’, if we don’t hear the reasons we think Max is being selfish, he’s not thinking about the team or his team-mate.”
