Max Verstappen Predicts Yet Another Interesting Saudi Arabian GP With ‘Heavy’ 2022 F1 Cars

Max Verstappen and his team Red Bull didn’t have the best start this season, not scoring a single point in Bahrain. The reigning world champion is looking forward to the Saudi Arabian GP. The Dutchman is also excited about how well the ‘heavy’ 2022 challengers will run on the Jeddah track.

The 2022 F1 cars are heavier in comparison to the last season’s machines. The reason behind the increase in weight is the new rule and regulations this season. Many F1 teams are struggling with the weight, but Red Bull is one of the most affected by this problem. There were reports during the pre-season that the RB18 overweighs from the minimum limit of 298 kgs.

The weight can affect the pace in the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, which features a lot of straights and slow-paced turns. So, more weight will slow down the car. Even Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is looking forward to how his car and other F1 cars will perform on the Jeddah track.

Verstappen reported on Red Bull’s Twitter, “Jeddah is a really quick track and this year the cars are slightly heavier so it’s going to be really interesting to see how they will perform. I’m really looking forward to it, it should be enjoyable!”

Max Verstappen focuses on scoring more points

The 2021 world champion is still distraught about the incident in Bahrain. Verstappen was unable to overtake the Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc after multiple battles between the two. However, tragedy struck when Verstappen had to retire from the race. After battling for first place, he suffered from an engine failure and had to stop. Also, his teammate Sergio Perez couldn’t bag a single point because his car also spun and got him out of the Bahrain GP.

Max Verstappen is frustrated about not winning the race but about not winning a single point. According to the 24-year-old, these points in the early races help when the end of the season is near. As the competition gets tougher during the final few races. Especially, this year it’s going to be tougher as Ferrari has looked phenomenal till now, and struggling Mercedes can surprise everyone with their performance as the season continues.
