Max Verstappen is the 2021 Formula 1 drivers’ champion as the Red bull team got back to their winning ways. The world title comes not only with prestige and bragging rights but also with handsome rewards and enviable sponsorships. The Dutchman enjoys a multi-million contract with the Milton-Keynes team apart from various brand endorsements.

Forbes ranked him amongst the highest-paid athletes in the world. Even before he became the world champion, his expected earnings this year were $42.5 million, second only to Hamilton among F1 drivers. He boasts of an impressive car collection, including Porsche 911 GT3, Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari Monza SP2, and Aston Martin Valkyrie among others.

Moreover, he owns a private jet Dassault Falcon-900EX which he bought a couple of years ago. It was previously owned by British tycoon Sir Richard Branson. Branson founded the Virgin group almost 4 decades ago which currently controls over 400 companies. Verstappen paid a whopping £12million for a plane that costs more than £1 million per year in upkeep.

The Falcon-900X can cover the range of 5143 miles, subject to the headwinds, altitudes, and temperature. It is a large jet with an occupancy of 12 people and the highest speed of 895km/h. There’s also a fully operational bar and a luxury bathroom on board with this luxury flight.

Max Verstappen owns a fortune

In 2020, he signed a contract renewal with Red Bull until 2023, which provides for a base salary of 22 million euros per season, plus bonuses. This year, he won 10 Grand Prix and the drivers’ championship which take the proceeds to an estimate of $15 million extra.

According to Gazzetta, Verstappen entered into multiple contracts, including Jumbo supermarkets, the Ziggo telecommunications group, the fashion brand G-Star Raw, the software company Exact, and the online used car store CarNext. Apart from that, he is also starting his travel company, “Max Verstappen official travel” which organizes tours for fans around the world circuit.

The sponsors, and the collateral activities, ensure between 10 and 15 million per year. For Verstappen to pay £1 million per year for the upkeep of his private jet is no big deal.
