After having one of the best seasons any driver has had in the history of F1, interviewers were curious of Max Verstappen’s plans for the off-season. So the interviewer asked the winning champion, “What are your plans for the summer break?”

The 3-time world champion replied, “A lot of cardio and wrist training.” And a dramatic pause later, the 26-year-old said, “Not what you think it is. You are a dirty man!” jokingly. Verstappen then signals with his hand how he will be training his wrist by grabbing drinks over the off-season.

Verstappen knows what he’s doing and the Red Bull driver loves playing around. While he is one of the best behind a steering wheel, the Dutchman has a knack for funny banter. And it’s times like this we get to see how funny the 3-time world champion can be.

Being a 3-time world champion comes with some privileges with what he wants to say. And Verstappen once again broke the internet with his interesting choice of words after Norris’ win.

Verstappen’s theory of ‘ifs and balls’

Lando Norris broke his curse of being the winless podium finisher at Miami after beating Max Verstappen on merit. After the race was over, the three podium finishers were interviewed and, along with McLaren and Red Bull, Charles Leclerc represented Ferrari at P3.

Many started bringing up the fact that the safety car gave Norris an advantage during the race. They said, “If” there was no safety car, Verstappen would have won. And “If “ the Red Bull car did not face floor damage from taking out a bollard, Verstappen would have won.

The Red Bull world champion got sick of hearing the word “if” as he believed the result to be fair. He defended his friend’s victory with a bizarre analogy saying, “If my mum had balls, she’d be my dad.” No one expected that combination of words to be put together like that and caught everyone off guard.

But this is Max Verstappen we are talking about. What he ultimately meant was that in the end, his mum is his mum because she is a lady and hence she is not his dad. How this relates to race is that the word “if” does not matter. What matters is what happened and through Verstappen’s extremely colorful choice of words, he put forth his take on Norris’ win.

Of course, the room was left stunned by Max Verstappen’s choice of words, with most breaking out into laughter. But at the end of the day, the 3-time world champion makes sense, at least in his own unique way.
