Despite being adopted by Brazil, Lewis Hamilton has always been a proud son of London. Having been born and brought up in Stevenage, Hamilton holds a special place for the North London town in his heart. However, there’s a new entrant in his beloved neighborhood, one from the rival Red Bull camp. That newbie is the girlfriend of Max Verstappen, Kelly Piquet, and looks like she had a great time.
Kelly may be a regular in the F1 paddocks owing to her association with Verstappen, but her identity calls for a lot more credit than just that. However, she recently faced a lot of flak for one of her modeling projects. Vogue Netherland did a cover story on “women in motorsport” and chose Piquet for the theme. Many on the internet slammed the decision to ignore actual women racers and pick Kelly because her association with F1 comes as a result of her family name and her being Max’s girlfriend.

Kelly dropped three photos from the photoshoot to update her fans. In the post’s caption, she wrote, “Suited and booted in @paige 🇬🇧 #LiveInIt The exclusive suiting collection available @theofficialselfridges @paige pop up.”
The post left her 1.1 million Instagram followers adoring her and there was a sea of hearts in the comments. Also present in the comments were a bunch of supermodels, including former F1 champion Jenson Button’s wife.

Kelly Piquet spilled the beans on a Max Verstappen hot take
In the January edition of Vogue Netherland, Kelly extensively talked about her relationship with Max and her own ambitions. In one of the snippets released by the magazine, she talked about the idea of her 2x champion boyfriend buying her a car. During that, she told how opposed Max Verstappen is to the idea of her driving an electric vehicle.
Kelly told, “If Max would say to me: ‘I want to buy you a car’, I would say: ‘An electric one, please’. He would die if I say that, die!”

It is good that F1 has no plans of going electric, at least for a foreseeable future otherwise, who knows, the reigning champion would have packed his bags. Even the sport’s current CEO Stefano Domenicali recently talked about them striving to make the sport greener but ruled out any possibility of going hundred percent electric.
