For the longest time, Max Verstappen has criticized Drive To Survive, even refusing to participate after a while. However, a new interview entails shocking positive remarks from the driver. Many believe that this could indicate a new beginning for Netflix and Verstappen. So has the Dutch Lion changed his stance on Drive To Survive?

The Red Bull driver had earlier accused the widely acclaimed series of faking rivalries. The 24-year-old was not happy about his portrayal in Drive To Survive and felt misrepresented. A few months ago, he also took a stand for friends Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, blasting the Netflix Original for making Norris look bad.

However, in a recent interview, this is what the Red Bull driver said when asked about the series, “I’m not gonna be too negative about it now because I mean I in the meantime of course I talk to the people who are in charge and who are running the show. So, I think we actually came to a good understanding for the future.”

“But up until now that’s why, of course, last year I was not really involved. I think there were a few things, yeah, where I was not really happy with and especially you know, faking rivalries between drivers that, for me, is a tough one because of course it did wonders in America. But also…”

“I think for the future we can do a good understanding of yeah how we can work together. So yeah, I’m sure in the next one you will see a little bit more of me.”

Clearly, Verstappen, though bothered by last year’s events, still chose to give the Netflix series another chance.

The driver was a monumental figure for the 2021 season. Although Red Bull’s team principal Christian Horner appeared in the series, Verstappen decided to skip everything. Further, Verstappen’s take on the series has been both shocking and acceptable for many fans.

The series has done tremendously well in the United States, becoming a big reason behind the sport’s growth. However, many European fans stand behind the Dutchman’s stance that the series is too “dramatized”. In fact, Verstappen even went to the length of likening the series to the popular show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’.
