The fans waited an entire year to witness the top rivalry of the current generation in the world of Formula 1. Their wish became a reality at the Sao Paulo track when Max Verstappen collided with Lewis Hamilton. The Dutchman was lined up behind the Englishman trying to pass him but had a collision instead. The failure of the move resulted in Max Verstappen‘s broken front wing and Hamilton pushed down the grid.
These intended moves at the Brazilian GP are termed a bit hyperbolic by an F1 pundit Jack Nicholls. Besides, he believes the rivalry is all set to take a shocking turn. He quoted on BBC’s Chequered Flag podcast, “Sometimes it feels like, this is a bit hyperbolic to say, but sometimes it feels like Verstappen and also maybe now Hamilton would rather have a collision than give up to the other one,”
He added, “They can’t give an inch to each other,” he said. “As soon as one gives an inch, it’s such a win in the psychological battle, isn’t it?”

David Coulthard believes Max Verstappen has reached a level of greatness
Max Verstappen had a stellar 2022 season as throughout the 22 races he brought himself some accolades. The dominating season saw a record-breaking 15 Grand Prix wins and scoring the highest points (454) for a season, beating the previous best of Lewis Hamilton (413). The supreme dominance had made former Red Bull driver, David Coulthard, insist that no matter how many titles Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton win further in their careers, they both are the greatest.

According to David Coulthard, “Just as Lewis doesn’t need nine world titles for me to consider him one of the greatest drivers in the sport, Max doesn’t need three to be considered one of the best,” he told formule1.nl. “Max is already one of the greats. You would also have to be a f****** idiot to claim that he only achieved this ‘because he was in a good car’. ”
