The summer break was excruciating for some and a breath of fresh air for others. Similarly, the Belgian Grand Prix was a dream for some and a nightmare for others. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were the two sides of the coin we just explained here.

In the post-race edition of the Fast & Loose: F1 podcast, the hosts spoke at length about last week’s Grand Prix. The hosts, amongst other things, deliberated about the biggest loser and the biggest winner from last Sunday’s race.
According to them, Max Verstappen had a race that was “One to remember.” They went on to explain the fact that the way he ended up winning from 14th on the grid was a stamp of authority and a statement, “This is saying I’m the best driver in the world.”
However, while talking about Hamilton they said, “This is one he wants to put in his rear view.”
Max Verstappen currently sits at the top of the Driver’s championship. However, the podcast hosts argued that it is much more than pure and sheer luck that elevated him to victory over his rivals at the Belgian Grand Prix.
Is Max Verstappen always a favorite to win?
Max Verstappen has quickly become a world-beater. A testament to this would be his astonishingly stonking performance at the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend. Even the hosts of the podcast had no doubt whatsoever that the flying dutch would win the race no matter his starting position on the grid.

According to the hosts of the podcast, “He seems to almost enjoy the challenge of starting that far back.”
They then went on to proclaim that Verstappen “had become so good now at Formula 1 that starting first just is just a bit boring these days.”
