A madman driving a beast is perhaps one of the best ways to describe Max Verstappen this season. Fresh from the glory of sinking old nemesis Lewis Hamilton last year, Verstappen wasn’t going to stop anytime soon. Each time he crossed the checkered flag ahead of everyone else, he sent a message to his rivals. Ultimately, the entire world heard him roar when he won in Japan and secured his second title.

It’s hard to fault Verstappen’s year. He broke the record for winning most races in a calendar year, despite a poor start to the season. However, he showed exactly why he was the champion-elect as he bounced back and won 15 races this season to seal a thumping championship win.

Moreover, when questioned about his favorite titles among the two, he joked and said, “I couldn’t choose, the first was very emotional but I wouldn’t want to forget this second either… Maybe with a third, I could choose better.”
