The 2021 season turned out to be one of the most thrilling ones owing to the rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The two drivers matched each other evenly until the very last lap of the final race in Abu Dhabi. In a controversial decision, Verstappen ended up winning the championship, a reality that Hamilton fans are not willing to accept. We saw a display of that when a bunch of fans in Baku lend their support to the Briton. The visual that was broadcast live, has now once again become a matter to fight over for the two camps.

The infamous night in Abu Dhabi from 2021 to this day, remains a big scar for Hamilton fans. Race director Michael Masi’s controversial decision caused the Briton to miss out on the coveted, never achieved before, 8th world championship title. After a gap of 4 weeks, the action is finally back on in F1. The circus has now moved to Azerbaijan and we are already done with the Free Practice, Qualifying and the Sprint Shootout. During the broadcast of the Sprint Shootout, the camera panned to a bunch of fans cheering for Lewis Hamilton. Nothing unusual, right?

The fans were holding up a T-Shirt that read, “Lewis Hamilton 8-time Champion of the WORLD”. Verstappen fans took some serious offense to the visual. However, Hamilton fans weren’t behind in hitting back.
