F1 has grown a lot over the past few years, and it has grown to the point that fans are collecting collectibles of their favorite F1 teams or drivers like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. One of the most collectible items is the F1 card which features the driver’s photo and name with his characteristics and information about his car.
These cards are growing in demand as the fanbase of the Formula 1 keeps increasing. However, the prices of these cards differ cause they mainly depend on the performance of a real-life driver. The best driver on the grid has the highest-priced card.

Lewis Hamilton is the seven-time F1 world champion so he would have one of the most expensive cards. Hamilton’s 2020 Topps Chrome Superfractor card sold for a record price of around $900,000. Meanwhile, there are speculations that Max Verstappen’s 2020 Topps Chrome Superfractor card had the highest bid, about $1200.

It was shocking that despite being the 2021 world champion and outperforming Hamilton last season, Verstappen’s card value is miles away from Hamilton. It seems that still many fans don’t feel Max is of the same worth as Hamilton. However, things might change in the future as these cards’ prices depend on a driver’s performance and records.
In 2022, Max Verstappen is fighting to defend his title against Charles Leclerc while Lewis is struggling to even finish in the top 10. Max has even won two races, while the seven-time world champion has only bagged one podium, thanks to the double Red Bull DNF at Bahrain.

Undoubtedly, the 24-year-old Dutchman has the potential to reach the same heights as Hamilton. And then, the Red Bull driver’s F1 card value might increase or even set a new record then.
Verstappen would need to work hard to achieve that feat because it won’t be easy to break the numerous records set by the Mercedes man. But when Verstappen does, that $1200 card would be worth $900,000.
