Monaco Grand Prix always attracts celebrities from around the world. The fans and the prominent personalities alike gather in numbers to have the best possible seat to watch the racing action on the streets of Monaco. So it was no surprise to see Elon Musk’s mother in attendance, meeting the F1 world champion, Max Verstappen.

Verstappen is one of the popular drivers in the sport and everyone wants a bit of his time during race weekend. So he caught up with Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, and took a picture with her. Maye posted the picture on her social media account that got the attention of F1 fans around the world.

@F1 to watch @Max33Verstappen qualifying round,” wrote Maye while supporting the Dutch driver in qualifying.

Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on Max’s side during the Monaco Grand Prix qualifying. The Red Bull driver finished his qualifying session in P4 after a roadblock caused by his teammate, Sergio Perez, and Carlos Sainz.

Max Verstappen left fuming after being denied the last flying lap in Q3

The world champion did not seem comfortable throughout the weekend, compared to his teammate on the streets of Monaco, where he won last year. And naturally, he was not one bit pleased when he heard about the yellow flags.

“Yeah, Q3 is all where you have to go for the limit and I was actually looking a bit better and opted for a different strategy as compared to others, which was good for me.”

“I was up on my second-timed lap. It was all feeling good, but of course; I saw the roadblock in Turn 8 so it’s unlucky. It’s Monaco, we just have to expect it, deal with it and move from there,” said Max in his post-qualifying interview.

It would have been interesting to see where Verstappen would have finished had he completed his final flying time lap in Q3. But starting in 4th gives him a decent shot at an opportunity to get a podium or even a win. Let’s see where he ends up after 78 brutal laps in Monaco tomorrow.
