Christian Horner is back against a wall with the investigation still keeping the team on their toes. Amidst all this, Zak Brown is not going easy on Red Bull either, with him raising concerns over the beverage giant operating a second team. Max Verstappen, caught up in the middle, has too much to think of while trying to bag his 4th World Championship title. After the Bahrain tests, the Dutch driver was interviewed by Motorsport.com and questions about the investigations began.
Verstappen was asked if the Horner investigation was distracting the team. In an attempt to avoid the question, he said, “I mean, in terms of talking about that, it’s not that suddenly sitting here I can speak about things.” Shrugging away the question, he continued, “So it’s better that I just focus on my own performance because that’s already a day job.”
But it’s clear that the Red Bull F1 team wants this to be done with. The Dutchman added, “But I guess of course for everyone it’s nice when things are resolved, but that’s the only thing that I can say about that.” He then spoke about how the team’s focus has been on the performance of the car. Stating that everyone knows their role, he explained that Red Bull is focused on making the “whole package faster.”

Details about the Christian Horner investigation are still kept on the low as the parent company, Red Bull GmbH, is taking things into its own hands to get things resolved. Max Verstappen has not given away any major update on the incident but has shared his thoughts on the pressure from McLaren.
Max Verstappen claims the McLaren pressure is “Typical F1”
Zak Brown is not ready to let Red Bull go this time. He has had an issue with the brand running two teams for a while now. With the FIA still not taking action, Brown has decided to hit Red Bull when it hurts. With Red Bull having their hands tied due to the Horner case, Brown has decided to go full force with his protest.

When Max Verstappen was asked about his thoughts on Brown’s moves, he simply replied, “That is a constant tactic in F1, one that is always used.” Stating that this is not something new, he said, “That does not only apply to this story, but that is always the case and is typical for F1. That is one hundred percent typical F1.”
It’s no secret that Verstappen is very close to Christian Horner and if things go south, there is a chance we might see it impact his performance in 2024. Red Bull is under pressure now and it’s going to be a tough start to the season for the reigning champions.
