Red Bull has emerged superior this year, having already bagged the two main titles of the season. Now, as Formula 1 heads to Mexico City for the Mexican Grand Prix, internal competition between the Red Bull boys plummets.
Sergio Perez is all set to drive in his home country for the upcoming race. Undoubtedly, a win here would crown the Mexican as ‘immortal.’ However, this is only possible if Checo finds a way to beat his teammate, Max Verstappen.

Max has been called ‘Unbeatable’ by many, including Mercedes’ seven-time champion, Lewis Hamilton. With his thirteen wins this season, Max now holds a record-breaking position. He shares this position with legends like Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher.
The only way for Checo to make that win, however, is to outperform Max. It is either that or as the popular opinion goes, Max dropping out voluntarily would secure the win for the Mexican man. However, in an interview with ‘Telegraf’, the Dutch Lion made it abundantly clear that he would not be helping him.
In the interview, Van Haren asked Max what he would do, if hypothetically, Perez was right behind him as he neared the finish line. Would he let him pass and take the win?
To this, the Dutch Lion said, “Well, then I win. That also means Charles Leclerc finishes behind Perez and that’s what matters when you look at the second spot in the standings.”
As the interview made its rounds, Sergio Perez had something to say in return.
Sergio Perez responded to Max Verstappen’s comment
The two have always gone head to head for the win, all fair and square. As the conversation regarding Max handing down a ‘pity win’ for the Mexican started making its rounds, the Mexican man had to speak up.

As the race closes in, Perez also shared his thoughts on the subject. He said, “I don’t need to be given anything. I have achieved everything without any gifts for so many years.”
Emphasizing on Max’s comment, he said that it was rather normal for wanting to win. However, the lack of help is only limited to the tracks, said the Mexican. He explained, “I think if it’s a situation where it’s different, where it’s a different help, I have no doubt he would do it like I have done with him in the past.”
With just three races left to go this season, Perez said, “Second or third is a good thing, no doubt, to have a runner-up in the World Championship, but for me the important thing is to be champion.”
