A week back, Max Verstappen suffered one of the biggest crashes of the 2021 F1 season at Silverstone, around the high-speed turn 9, Copse.
However, thanks to the safety regulations that are in place at the moment, the Dutchman walked away from the scene with minor bruises.
Hence, considering the severity of the crash, Verstappen opened up about his F1 colleagues checking up on him through phone calls.

This included other team bosses and F1 drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, who also played a role in causing the immense crash. Interestingly, though, the Red Bull driver revealed that one of the F1 team bosses never checked up on him over the course of these two weeks.
What did Max Verstappen say?
One of Sky Germany’s reporters took to Twitter to reveal that he spoke to Verstappen ahead of the race weekend at Hungaroring. During the talk, the Dutchman apparently mentioned that he never received a call from Mercedes’ Team Principal, Toto Wolff.

“I just got with Max Verstappen! He emphasized that almost all the team bosses and drivers called him after the crash in Silverstone to ask how he was! Toto Wolff however, did not report,” the reported claimed.
Of course, this is quite unusual, considering the healthy relationship streaming between Wolff and the Red Bull driver’s father, Jos Verstappen.
Nevertheless, it is likely that the Austrian will have the much-anticipated chat over the weekend in Hungary. And if not, well, let’s wait and watch how the future unfolds.
He did call me: Verstappen
After the heat surrounding the British GP incident settled, Lewis Hamilton had reckoned that he would ring up Verstappen to clear the air. And rightfully so, the Dutchman acknowledged that he did have a conversation with title rival over the phone.
“Yeah, he did call me,” he said. “I don’t need to go into details about that but we did have a chat.”

Both the drivers will yet again be heading into the race weekend with big prospects. On one hand, there is Hamilton, who will be keen on further closing down his gap to the championship leader.

Meanwhile, there is Verstappen, who will be looking to pull away in the championship fight after losing a massive chunk of difference at Silverstone.
Hence, of the two, who is going to secure the crucial race win at Hungary? Will the duo yet again come together during the race this weekend?
