The Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton 2021 world championship bout will go down in history books. The drama leading up to the championship and the Abu Dhabi GP was “insane”. None of us could’ve imagined the events that unfolded and the flashbacks can still send chills down the spine of F1 fans.

The thrilling events and unbelievable scenario still shock the world champions as well. Discussing the last lap of the race with LadBibleTV, Verstappen candidly expressed his emotions.

When posed the question, “But how does that feel, winning that in the last race of the season?” The Red Bull man first clarified, “Last lap as well.” Verstappen continued, “It’s insane. If you would say that before the season, or even with a few races to go, you would be like, ‘That’s mental’. You cannot imagine, even the night before, I would not imagine something like that, so..”

Verstappen summed up the entire world’s feelings as the circumstances of his world championship were unimaginable. This is exactly why the incidents of the race will be remembered for a long time.

Verstappen further added, “I hope it never happens again. Let’s say it like that, yeah.” It seems the nerve-wracking once-in-a-lifetime scenario was enough for the Dutch world champion.

However, history has a funny habit of repeating itself. And having said what he said, Verstappen is moving forward with a winning mentality, whatever the scenario may be.

In this interview, where Verstappen and Perez were required to agree or disagree on statements, a question gave us interesting insights. The statement was, “The Netherlands will win the 2022 World Cup.” The Mexican was quick to disagree, however, Verstappen agreed.

Explaining himself, Verstappen started off by saying, “I have to be positive.” Then added, “I mean you have to have the positive attitude going into the tournament. You have to believe that you can win it, otherwise what’s the point of even going?”
