When one says living a luxurious life? Indulgent food is what comes to mind, amongst other things. A Formula 1 driver leads the said luxurious life, but because of the intense nature of the sport and the cons of being an athlete, they can’t have a committed relationship with food. However, the rule breaker Lando Norris who often appears at the paddock gates without the entry pass hasn’t been following the memo when it comes to the non-indulgence.
Norris reveals that he can eat whatever he wants because he has a 5 kg window on the weight the driver can take to the cockpit. The mark of 80 kg where the driver and his seat shouldn’t weigh less than that, that mark is how the weight assessment of the drivers takes place. The Britton who has quite some opening there indulges in juicy bites as a post-race wind-down routine. In Olympic medalist Tom Daley’s podcast, Made with Love, the McLaren driver takes the listeners through his palette preferences.
He says, “Normally I get a massive chicken burger come through. Normally after the race, it is just starving. I don’t eat a lot on race day just because of nerves and I have never been a big eater. I have a very small breakfast. It would be like poached eggs on toast or something, some avocado. And lunch would be like a chicken wrap. I have had the same lunch for probably the last two or three years.”

He further adds, “If I find one thing I love and I just stick to it. And that’s all I have now. Chicken Teriyaki with some pineapple little things I love gives me a good amount of energy and carbs. I stick it in and I go racing. But then, after the race, you have issues. You are starving, you are thirsty, so I get a massive amount of food come through. some pancakes sometimes as well.”

Double trouble and a serious one at that. McLaren‘s unlucky number two has been striking the team ever since the curtain raiser at Bahrain. Double DNF, double lapping of Norris, and the continuation of nightmare in the second race, though no DNFs were there. While Oscar Piastri’s Q3 appearance was the saving grace for the Woking outfit, the intertwined incidents faced by the McLaren drivers ruined the race for them.
Speaking after the race in Jeddah, Lando told, “It was a really good start, I just got all the damage from, I think Oscar and Ocon came together and all of their debris hit my car and it ruined my race. So, I had to do a nose box change, broke my front wing but it just kind of ruined the rest of it.”
